The development of super-heavy tank Maus was started by Ferdinand Porsche in 1942. As a result, two prototypes of that tank were built. They were passing the tests in 1944 ' early1945. Production of the Maus was never started. In April 1945, due to the Red Army approaching to testing range, both prototypes were blown up. Nevertheless, one captured Maus was rebuilt.
